No Doubt comes home to Southern California tonight (March 27) for the first of two gigs at L.A.’s Universal Amphitheater in support of its current album, Rock Steady. Music CDs equipped with copy protection will, if Rick Boucher gets his wish, soon be as obsolete as eight-track cassettes. The feisty Democratic congressman from Virginia says he plans to introduce legislation banning, or at least regulating, compact discs outfitted with anti-copying technology. Silverchair has completed work on their eagerly anticipated label debut. The album – titled “DIORAMA” – is currently slated to be released in North America on July 9th. Their first new album in three years, “DIORAMA” is unquestionably Silverchair’s most multi-dimensional work to date. Even music fans who don’t dig Creed’s style of heartfelt hard rock must find it hard not to admire frontman Scott Stapp’s ongoing humanitarian efforts. During late spring and early summer, Stapp’s foundation With Arms Wide Open (named after the Creed song of the same name) will assist two camps in their efforts to reach out to children and their parents.
