Virgin Recommends artist Rufus Wainwright will begin his first-ever headlining tour with a full band beginning on Feb 8 at Boston’s Avalon Ballroom, and ending Mar 9 in San Francisco at the famed Fillmore. Adam Ant Committed to Mental Hospital


Adam Ant, the flamboyant pop singer who scored hits in the 1980s, has been committed to a London psychiatric hospital after being arrested for firearms offenses, police said Wednesday. The singer, whose real name is Stuart Goddard, was taken to the Royal Free Hospital by police on Monday – just 24 hours after he was accused of pulling out a gun at the Prince of Wales pub in north London. Crew Injured on Eminem Film Set


Four members of the crew working on the Eminem movie Eight Mile in Highland Park, Michigan, were injured on January 13th during a controversial scene in which a house was set on fire. All four were taken to a local hospital for treatment. One of the injured suffered first-degree burns, while the others had minor burns. All four were released the same day and returned to work that night. They also reported for work on January 14th, the last day of filming. Britney Spears has signed an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement with Skechers USA Footwear Company to appear in advertising for the company’s 4 Wheelers roller-skate line. Sonic Youth Reissuing LPs With Bonus Tracks, Working On New Album


A decade after the release of their most popular album, Dirty, dissonant art rockers Sonic Youth are reissuing the disc along with two of their other titles as double-CDs bloated with bonus material. Dirty, Goo (1990) and Daydream Nation (1988) will be issued before summer by Universal with all of the original tracks remastered, along with previously unheard demos, live cuts and B-sides, the band’s publicist said.
