Stabbing Westward Cut Out


After 12 years of Stabbing Westward, members of the Chicago industrial rock quartet are moving in different directions, the group announced on Saturday. The decision to disband was made a week prior to the announcement, but the band wanted the termination to marinate for a bit before going public, according to the group’s manager. Creed Charity Wraps Its Wide-Open Arms Around Camps


Even music fans who don’t dig Creed’s style of heartfelt hard rock must find it hard not to admire frontman Scott Stapp’s ongoing humanitarian efforts. During late spring and early summer, Stapp’s foundation With Arms Wide Open (named after the Creed song of the same name) will assist two camps in their efforts to reach out to children and their parents. Beach Boys Launch Olympic Gigs


An outdoor Beach Boys concert before thousands Saturday launched a series of musical concerts intended to entertain visitors and athletes at the Olympic Games. “Salt Lake City has been a tradition for the Beach Boys,” founding member Mike Love said in an interview with Reuters prior to the concert. Depeche Mode to Do Pay Per View


A Depeche Mode performance filmed last year at the Palais Omnisports in Paris will be aired as a two-hour pay per view concert starting March 8th. One Night in Paris, The Exciter Tour will be available through iN Demand (8 p.m. ET), TVN, Echostar and DirecTV (all 9 p.m.) through April 9th. Janet Jackson's Manager Foils Break In


Janet Jackson’s dressing room was broken into on Wednesday night (February 7) while the singer was on stage performing to the packed house at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York. Police charged Mario Backman for burglary after he was found trying to pilfer personal items belonging to Jackson from the backstage area. Nelly Gets Praise From Missouri


While Gov. Bob Holden and members of the Missouri House honored St. Louis rapper Nelly, some questioned whether the state should praise a group that sings about illegal drug use and sexual promiscuity. Nelly and his group, the St. Lunatics, were honored Tuesday for their promise to play basketball with high schools that showed increased participation in standardized state tests.
