Queensryche Return This Summer with a New Album, TRIBE in Stores July 22


This summer Seattle rockers Queensryche return with the release of Tribe, the band’s first studio album on Sanctuary Records. Tribe, which will be released on July 22, 2003, follows Queensryche’s Sanctuary debut, Live Evolution, a career-spanning live collection, released in 2001. Lead singer Geoff Tate, guitarist Michael Wilton, bassist Eddie Jackson and drummer Scott Rockenfeld have collaborated to produce quite possibly the band’s most ambitions and most insightful project to date. Reel Big Fish and Drummer Part Ways


Reel Big Fish and their friend and drummer for the past 4 years, Carlos De La Garza, have parted ways. The split is an amicable one as De La Garza has opted to pursue other things and spend more time with his wife and family. Filling in on drums for their upcoming summer tour is Justin Ferreria who also plays in Fish frontman Aaron Barrett’s side project, The Forces of Evil, and formally in Jeffries Fan Club and Longfellow. Metallica Make Peace With Digital Downloaders – Sort Of


After suing Internet file-sharing service Napster and contending with the marketing nightmares of digital downloading, Metallica are making peace with the enemy – sort of. The band has partnered with Seattle DSL Online provider Speakeasy and developed www.metallicavault.com, a Web site that will contain hours of downloadable live recordings, demos and B-sides for free. 311 Hitting The Road To Push New Material Down People's Throats


After spending last fall on the road with Jay-Z, N.E.R.D. and Nappy Roots, 311 are catering their next tour to the more rock side of their fanbase. The hip-hop- and reggae-influenced quintet has lined up blues jammers G. Love & Special Sauce, piano punks Something Corporate and frat rockers O.A.R. as openers for a summer trek. The Black Eyed Peas on Tour With Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera


The Black Eyed Peas will be going on tour with Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera beginning June 4 in Phoenix and finishing up in St. Paul on August 24. There are now four peas in the pod, with the addition of female vocalist, Fergie. They will also be headlining club dates on their own throughout the tour. Def Jam Crew Takes 'Vendetta' on the Road


While most acts go on the road in support of new albums, several Def Jam Records artists will launch a tour next month behind the release of a new video game. Bon Jovi Add Stadium and Shed Dates to Sold Out 'Bounce' Tour


Due to popular demand, international superstars Bon Jovi have added more dates to their current sold-out tour in support of their acclaimed CD Bounce (Island Records). Aerosmith, Kiss Tour Dates Announced


If practice makes perfect, the Aerosmith/Kiss tour should be faultless. After all, the bands have got nearly six decades of experience between them. Thirty-two dates over 11 weeks are scheduled for the nationwide trek, which begins August 2 in Hartford, Connecticut, and runs through October 18 in San Bernardino, California, according to a spokesperson for tour promoters Clear Channel Entertainment. MTV Barred From Using Campus Building


Mississippi University for Women has withdrawn permission for MTV to use a campus building to interview women for a new reality series. In an e-mail to alumnae, MUW President Claudia Limbert said producers didn’t mention the show’s working title when they asked for the use of a room at the student center. The series is tentatively titled “Sex in the Itty Bitty City.” Although modeled after HBO’s fictional New York-based “Sex and the City,” the show will document real women’s strategies, successes and failures in the search for a mate.
