P.O.D.'s 'Payable on Death' Goes Gold


Payable On Death, the newest album from Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum rock group P.O.D., has just been certified Gold by the RIAA after only four weeks on the album charts. Debuting at No. 9 on the Billboard album charts on November 4, the album has been bolstered by eight weeks of chart-topping airplay for their first single, “Will You,” and a #1 MTV TRL video. AOL Time Warner to Drop 'AOL' From Name


As of Thursday, the world’s largest media company will officially drop “AOL” from its name and be known as “Time Warner Inc.,” as it was before it announced a merger with America Online at the height of the Internet boom in early 2000. The company’s shares will also resume trading under their former ticker symbol of “TWX” on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, instead of the current “AOL.” The company will also change its Web site to www.timewarner.com from www.aoltimewarner.com. Dates Set For Jagermeister Fall Music Tour – Slayer to Headline


The Jagermeister Fall Music Tour is coming, and heavy metal icons, Slayer, will lead the assault! Produced and promoted by Clear Channel Entertainment, the tour will let loose on October 8th in Minneapolis, MN and finish up in Los Angeles on November 29th. Tony Hawk's Latest X Games Gold Will Be His Last


After more than two decades as a pro, Tony Hawk is hanging up his board. The 35-year-old father of three announced his retirement from competition after winning the gold at X Games IX on Sunday in Los Angeles. Hawk placed first in the Vert Best Trick competition with his patented 900, a full two-and-a-half-rotation spin off the half-pipe. Fans of the skateboarding legend won’t be completely devoid of their idol, however. Good Charlotte to Tour


Having wrapped summer tours in the U.S. and Europe, Good Charlotte have lined up another twenty-three dates for this fall in continued support of their second album, 2002’s The Young and the Hopeless. The new itinerary starts September 18th in Madison, Wisconsin, and is currently scheduled to run through October 17th in Uniondale, New York, though additional dates will likely push the tour into November. Lynyrd Skynyrd Cancels Rest Of Tour With Sammy Hagar


The Lynyrd Skynyrd/Sammy Hagar “Party Of A Lifetime” tour has come to an end, as Skynyrd has pulled out of the remaining dates due to guitarist Gary Rossington’s health. Rossington had open-heart surgery in February and was cleared to tour in support of their new album Vicious Cycle. 311 Loads 'Evolver' for Tour


Modern rock quintet 311 will embark next month on its 41-date summer Unity tour. The outing comes in support of the group’s seventh studio album, “Evolver,” due July 22 from Volcano Records. The outing is set to kick off July 15 in Bakersfield, Calif., and criss-cross the country before closing Sept. 6 in San Diego. Opening acts on the tour include Something Corporate, G.
