'80s Rocker Adam Ant Institutionalized After Window Smash


Eighties new wave star Adam Ant was arrested for suspicion of criminal damage in London on Wednesday for allegedly hurling rocks through a neighbor?s windows. Ant, 49, whose real name is Stuart Leslie Goddard, was arrested and then booked at the Central London police station on Wednesday morning, according to a Scotland Yard spokesperson. The spokesperson said a 49-year-old man was questioned and released on bail, although Ant was not named, per British police protocol. He was ordered to report back in July for a hearing. EMI Boosts Stake in Motown Music Catalog


British music company EMI Group Plc said on Thursday it bought a further 30 percent stake in a catalog of classic Motown songs such as “My Girl” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” for $109.3 million. EMI purchased the stake in the Jobete song catalog from Motown Records founder Berry Gordy, taking its holding to 80 percent. Slipknot Drummer Plans Side Project


Drummer Joey Jordison of the hard rock band Slipknot, is planning to release a side project this summer. Slipknot is composed of nine Des Moines-area natives known for grotesque masks and extreme metal music. The band they started in an Urbandale basement in the mid-1990s has captured two Grammy nominations and sold millions of compact discs around the world. Jordison has teamed up with Tripp Eisen of Static-X to form Murderdolls. They’ll release their debut album, “Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls,” on Aug. 20. Man Charged in Sinatra Video Sales


Authorities say the way a Bergen County man sold Frank Sinatra videos and recordings on the Internet might have been his way, but it was the wrong way. Howard J. Zaremby’s eBay account was “Sinatra4Ever,” but the goods were counterfeit, according to the Recording Industry Association of America, which began investigating after getting a complaint from a Sinatra family lawyer. The association then alerted the Bergen County prosecutor’s office to Zaremby, who operated Zaremby Videos International from the basement of his Cliffside Park home.
