Rolling Stones fans who want first dibs on seats for the group’s North American tour will get satisfaction from an advance-purchase offer tied to the road show, concert promoter, Clear Channel Entertainment said on Tuesday. Clear Channel has teamed up with music retail chain Sam Goody to launch “getAccess,” a rewards program that allows fans to buy two tickets for one show on the tour, which begins on Sept. 5 in Boston. Boston native Joey McIntyre will host the 15th annual Boston Music Awards (BMAs) at the city’s 2,700-seat Orpheum Theatre on Thursday (April 11). The train keeps a-rollin’ for Aerosmith, the bad boys of American rock ‘n’ roll, who are working on a slew of projects before returning to the concert circuit in the fall. Former Beatle Paul McCartney will kick off his first North American concert tour in nine years in Oakland, Calif. on April 1, his publicist said on Thursday. McCartney, 59, will play 20 shows in 19 cities, including a two-night stand at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Hotel where the top ticket price will be $350, according to tour promoters. Rocking a stadium is no mean trick. Plenty of bands do stadium tours because they’ve got the audience, but the ability to blow the roof off a 5,000-seat venue doesn’t mean you can knock ’em dead in an arena. Some have done it – get your hands on Cheap Trick’s Live at Budokan and hear the decibels erupt – but many have not. Platonically, Weezer is a band fit for arena rock. ‘N Sync will tour North American arenas in the coming months in support of its 2001 Jive album, “Celebrity.” A full itinerary has not yet been unveiled, but dates are so far confirmed for five shows, beginning March 3 at the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore.
