A ban on the festival-seating arrangement that contributed to a fatal 1979 stampede at a Cincinnati arena will be lifted for a Bruce Springsteen concert this fall, officials said. Springsteen requested that the city reinstate general-admission seating for his Nov. 12 concert at U.S. Bank Arena. Rolling Stones fans who want first dibs on seats for the group’s North American tour will get satisfaction from an advance-purchase offer tied to the road show, concert promoter, Clear Channel Entertainment said on Tuesday. Clear Channel has teamed up with music retail chain Sam Goody to launch “getAccess,” a rewards program that allows fans to buy two tickets for one show on the tour, which begins on Sept. 5 in Boston.
