Modest Mouse Scores First Billboard #1


It was a tight race for the #1 spot on Billboard ‘s next albums chart, one that pitted enigmatic indie rock outfit Modest Mouse against soulful British songstress Joss Stone. Killers, Arctic Monkeys Top Brit Awards


The Killers and the Arctic Monkeys, indie rockers from opposite sides of the Atlantic, took two trophies apiece Wednesday at Britain’s prestigious music-industry awards, the Brits. Las Vegas natives The Killers, who broke out in Britain before finding success at home, were named international group of the year at the British equivalent of the Grammys. SXSW Finally Confirms First Round of Artists


Bloc Party, the Good, the Bad & the Queen, Taylor Hicks, Daniel Johnston (with the Nightmares), Mastodon, Lily Allen, Paolo Nutini, Spoon, Mogwai, the Stooges, the Apples In Stereo and Amy Winehouse are among the first acts confirmed to appear at the 2007 South by Southwest conference and music festival, which will be held March 14-18 in Austin, Texas. This year’s diverse lineup includes more than a dozen notable Mexican artists, including Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Canseco, Mexican Institute of Sound, Panda and Zoe. A Rockin' New Year


The big question as we enter 2004 is simply “Do you want some?” The answer will come when Liam Gallagher and elder brother Noel return to the fray with the new Oasis album later this year. Eminem’s pill popping 'Relapse' cover hits the Web


This is evidently the stunning cover of Eminem’s Relapse, courtesy of our favorite hip-hop blog Nah Right. The artwork features a portrait of Slim Shady sculpted from pills of assorted shapes, sizes and colors. T.I. utilized a similar technique for his Paper Trail cover, but where Relapse is a mosaic created out of medicine, Paper Trail is a collage composed of ripped-up memos and folded dollar bills.
