Every night on the Summer Sanitarium Tour, Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington is tearing it up, just as he swore he would. Metallica’s latest album, St. Anger, is a straightforward effort, which drummer Lars Ulrich compares to a raw garage-band-like recording. The band also decided to limit the number of guitar solos, so much so that fans have been asking where lead guitarist Kirk Hammett is on the record. Arista recording artist Wakefield hit the road opening for All-American Rejects starting May 4th in Portland, Oregon. Despite the arrest of her drummer over the weekend, pop singer Pink will still get the party started here Wednesday on the last stop of her six-month world tour. Drummer William Johnson was arrested Sunday when a routine passport check revealed a warrant for his arrest for grand larceny in New York, said Deputy Attorney General Neil Murakami. Johnson was released after posting $50,000 cash bail, officials said. Johnson was in court for an extradition hearing on Tuesday and is scheduled to appear at another hearing on Thursday before heading back to New York. Members of the ska band Reel Big Fish escaped unharmed when their tour bus caught fire at a truck stop. The six band members and three crewmen were sleeping on the bus Saturday morning when the blaze started. The band was on its way to a show at The Blue Note in Columbia, part of a five-week tour to promote its album “Cheer Up,” released in July.
