Rancid, Weezer, 311, Kool Keith, Pennywise, Rollins Band, and the Misfits are some of the bigger artists confirmed to play the annual Vans Warped Tour, set to kick off June 22 in Phoenix. An official announcement of participating venues and additional acts for the nearly two-month tour is expected within two weeks. Underoath is taking to the road for a seven-week tour beginning next Thursday (Feb. 22) at the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pa. As previously reported , the trek comes on the heels of drummer/vocalist Aaron Gillespie’s tour with his side project, the Almost. The group will be sharing the stage with Taking Back Sunday through April 7 at the House Of Blues in Atlantic City, N.J. The hard partying rocker was enthusiastically playing his anthem “I Get Wet” as the skies opened up and a torrential downpour put an early end to the eighth stop on this year’s Vans Warped Tour. Warped Tour 2001 closes on Sunday (August 12) in Pontiac, Michigan at the Phoenix Plaza Amphitheater. The tour has been described as a “punk rock summer camp” and this year is no exception. However, there have been a few cases of fighting between the acts on the bill. In fact, D12 and Esham were kicked off the tour a week ago for fighting.
