Growing up as a Christian, Relient K lead singer Matthew Thiessen says that it’s hard for him to ignore his faith when writing lyrics. It tends to leak through, which has helped the band join their idols MXPX in the Christian pop punk genre. The All-American Rejects’ second album is truly a work in progress. There are still so many nails exposed and the paint is still so wet that if this album were an episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” Ty Pennington would be bellowing stuff like “Come on, guys!
