Lil' Kim Takes Stand at Perjury Trial

New York – Rap star Lil’ Kim testified at her federal perjury trial on Thursday, telling jurors she was bullied by prosecutors when she allegedly lied to a grand jury about a 2001 shootout. “I was a victim (of the shooting),” said Lil’ Kim, a former sidekick of the late Notorious B.I.G. “I couldn’t believe I was being badgered the way I was.” Wearing a lacy peach dress beneath a white blazer, the 4-foot-11 Grammy winner frequently turned in the direction of jurors, flashed broad smiles and dropped names of famous artists she’s worked with. She was admonished by the… Read more »

Bono Not in Running for World Bank-Lobby Group

Washington – Bono won’t be saving the world at the helm of the World Bank. The lobby group co-founded by the Irish band U2’s lead singer on Thursday knocked down media reports that he was a serious contender to head the global institution that provides billions of dollars annually to help the world’s poorest countries. “I can’t believe I need to say this, but there are no circumstances in which Bono would be nominated or accept the World Bank job,” said Jamie Drummond, executive director of DATA – or Debt, AIDS, Trade, Africa – for which Bono campaigns to raise… Read more »

'Apprentice' Hires Simple Plan, New Found Glory

New York – It’s not the lineup for an awards show or a tsunami relief concert. It’s the list of guest stars on Thursday’s episode of “The Apprentice.” Lil’ Kim, Eve, Fat Joe, Barenaked Ladies, Moby, Gene Simmons, Lil’ John, Simple Plan, New Found Glory and Jadakiss were solicited by the 10 remaining candidates on Donald Trump’s reality show to donate and auction off a personal experience live on Fuse. “It was funny to watch them come in with very limited viewpoints about being a VJ and try to pull it off,” said Fuse video jockey Steven Smith. Motley Crue Kickstarts NYC's Heart

New York – There are several good reasons why Motley Crue didn’t play the halftime show at this year’s Super Bowl, and most of them were on display as the reunited ’80s rockers assaulted Madison Square Garden for the first time in 21 years. Having reigned as the Bad Boys of Rock ‘n’ Roll for most of the decade, the California quartet saw their decadence crown snatched away in the late ’80s by Axl Rose and Guns ‘N’ Roses. Motley’s own fortunes ebbed, the victim of substance abuse, supermodel divorces (drummer Tommy Lee managed to lose both Pamela Anderson and… Read more »

Lopez MTV Special Sprinkled With Bling

New York – Jennifer Lopez didn’t let MTV delve as deeply as they do into the lives of “Newlyweds” Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey or the Osbourne family, but she did let the cameras capture her stressing out over her sparkly New York Fashion Week debut – and one itty-bitty tantrum. “Jennifer Lopez: Beyond the Runway,” the hour-long docu-special that airs Thursday night (10 p.m. EST), is mostly drama-free. Unlike the Osbournes’ screaming matches or a fit by Simpson, most of the conflict is over bling and color. Six months before the show, Lopez worries her designers won’t come up… Read more »

Janet's Bodyguards Lose Control?

Janet Jackson may be wishing her bodyguards had exerted just a bit more control last Friday. A New York man hit Jackson with a whopping $120 million lawsuit, alleging her security detail gave him such a beatdown outside a New York nightclub that he suffered “permanent damage” according to the New York Daily News. Bronx resident Leonard Salati claims Jackson’s goons grabbed him, put him in a chokehold and then proceeded to start “dragging him down the steps” of the Marquee club on Feb. 4. All this, he claims, because he tried to pass a note to the “Nasty” singer… Read more »
