Michael Jackson addressed his rumored dispute with Sony Music for the first time Wednesday when he aligned himself with a new artist-rights initiative and released a statement condemning the music industry and his label. At a New York press conference Jackson was named the first member of a coalition formed by the Rev. Turnout was thin Saturday for the second day of an event organizers promoted as a hybrid of music festivals and extreme sports. The Beyond 2002 Super Festival offered five stages of hip-hop and rock music, as well as motorcyclists, snowboarders and skiers. No Doubt are taking their Rock Steady to the streets, beginning in mid-March. The ska-turned-reggae rock quartet will launch its first proper tour in support of its latest album, Rock Steady, with two offshore dates in Puerto Rico and Venezuela, on March 14 and 16, respectively, according to an Interscope Records spokesperson.
