The release of “Always” has given the band’s year-old untitled album unprecedented longevity. “It’s the first time we’ve ever had four singles,” singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge explained. “[This album] is like ‘The Little Engine That Could.’ We even talked about a fifth single. In an effort to stop the wholesale looting of U2’s forthcoming ‘How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb’ by illicit file-sharers, the band has partnered with MTV.com and VH1.com for exclusive, and legal, online streaming of the new album.
