Little Rock, Arkansas indie-pop project joan, aka Alan Benjamin Thomas and Steven Rutherford, are dreaming—”lucid dreaming,” that is. The two just launched their latest single, “lucid dreaming,” a glowing pop tune that won’t leave you snoozing, but will transport you out of this world. “Don’t go away/I’m hanging onto every word you say/You got me feeling like I’m in a daze/This can’t be real/There’s no way that I’m awake cause/You got me stuck in an alternate reality,” they sing. Beyond this track, joan has offered an array of upbeat indie-pop works with ethereal vocals and synths for days—a sound that… Read more »

Previously, the rising punk/metal act and recent Hopeless Records signees released singles “Body Bag” and “Reflections.” Vocalist Vlado Saric shares of the track, “I was once in a situationship with someone who seemed really awesome, but as things unraveled, so did she. ‘Black Heart’ is a song about seeing someone for who they really are.” Check out the genre-defying track and official music video below. “Black Heart” Lyrics: Gave up tonight‘Cause I am so sick… Read more »
On July 25, The Dirty Nil, aka dynamic duo vocalist/guitarist Luke Bentham and drummer Kyle Fisher, brought their trademark blistering rock and roll on The Lash. And this time, the two went back to basics in a simple studio set-up with local audio engineer Vince Solivari just down the street in their hometown of Hamilton, Ontario. Beyond this stripped-back approach, Fisher and Bentham sought out to make a record that made them feel “stoked,” and ignite feelings that returned them to day one. So, between their straight-forward attitudes and even a trip to Rome, The Dirty Nil arrived with 10… Read more »
During night one of their Dodger Stadium takeover on July 26, 2025, My Chemical Romance surprised fans with the debut of an unreleased track, “War Beneath The Rain.” The song is believed to be a holdover from the band’s scrapped Paper Kingdom project (aka MCR5), which was shelved before their 2013 breakup. Ahead of the performance, frontman Gerard Way shared, “I don’t remember how long ago it was, but it was before the band broke up. We had a studio in North Hollywood, and we were making a record that never came out. This is one of the songs we… Read more »

Cobra Starship is officially back and about to make their legendary return to Warped Tour—this time hitting the stage at Long Beach. On this episode of idobi Warped Radio, Gabe Saporta and Victoria Asher (aka Vicky-T) sit down with Peyton Grufik of idobi Radio to rewind the clock and relive the neon madness of their rise, one purple hoodie and keytar riff at a time.
From the moment online AI started claiming Cobra Starship’s name was inspired by Lilo & Stitch (Gabe confirms: he’s never seen it) to performing “One Night” at a party on 90210 (which Vicky had to remind Gabe of), the interview is packed with hilarious behind-the-scenes stories. The duo also dish on what it was like collaborating with Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester on “Good Girls Go Bad” and how Gabe ended up on the show himself in a brief cameo alongside Blake Lively. Plus, Vicky-T laughs about the label-directed remake of their “Guilty Pleasures” video, which the band took the opportunity to poke fun at.
Gabe and Vicky reflect on their first and only Warped Tour appearance in 2008, why they ended the band in 2015, and how it feels to be stepping back into the world of Cobra after nearly a decade away. Spoiler: It’s way more fun now. They talk candidly about growing pains, evolving lineups, and the way the music industry became less about community and more about competition.
Through it all, one thing is clear: Cobra Starship have brought the party back to life!
