New York/London – EMI Music Publishing will begin a three-year transition Feb. 1 as it grooms its next chairman/CEO. Roger Faxon, the chief financial officer at London-based EMI Group PLC, will return to the publishing unit in New York – where he had spent three years as CFO – to become its worldwide president/COO and eventual successor to veteran chairman Martin Bandier. Bandier will remain the company’s chairman/CEO until April 1, 2006, when the two will share the CEO title. SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Prosecutors in Michael Jackson’s child molestation case are pushing to introduce evidence of alleged wrongdoing in the past during pre-trial hearings scheduled to begin Monday. Jackson, 46, is charged with molesting a boy, conspiracy and administering an intoxicating agent, alcohol, to his alleged victim. He faces trial on Jan. 31. The Santa Barbara district attorney’s office is asking the judge to allow evidence that Jackson has committed other sex crimes over the years that went uncharged, such as a 1993 molestation case that was settled out of court. Seattle – Nirvana’s box set, delayed three years by litigation, was finally released Tuesday, introducing hundreds of thousands of fans to rare recordings and even living-room video of the grunge rockers. The four-disc set, “With the Lights Out,” includes 81 tracks, 68 of them previously unreleased. It was initially planned for release in 2001 – for the 10th anniversary of the album “Nevermind” – but a dispute between Courtney Love, the widow of frontman Kurt Cobain, and the surviving bandmates delayed the project. The 32-year-old rapper voted by absentee ballot in Tuesday’s presidential election and had a bodyguard drop it off, township clerk Dennis Tomlinson said. “This guy (the bodyguard) was huge.
