Alien Ant Farm have canceled all remaining May and June performances due to injuries the band sustained in a bus accident Wednesday on tour in Spain. In addition to the WHFStival, a radio-sponsored festival scheduled for Sunday in Washington, D.C., the band has withdrawn from festivals in Indianapolis, Dallas, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Atlanta and Norfolk, Virginia, as well as dates with the Color Red, according to a DreamWorks Records spokesperson. The thought of anyone from block rockers Stone Temple Pilots working with Rhinestone Cowboy Glen Campbell might at first seem as absurd as porn star Jenna Jameson advocating abstinence. On further examination, it doesn’t seem so bizarre. STP bassist and songwriter Robert DeLeo has spoken in interviews about his love for the country-pop performed by Johnny Cash, Jimmy Webb and especially Campbell. Trey Anastasio spent 17 years ripping genres apart and sticking them back together at odd angles with the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink uber-jam band Phish. So maybe it’s no surprise he’s whipped up another unusual concoction: a jam/swing hybrid dotted with sugary-sweet love songs and chamber music. Bush guitarist Nigel Pulsford’s break from touring now looks to be a permanent vacation from the band he co-founded a decade ago with frontman Gavin Rossdale. The British rockers will continue with ex-Helmet guitarist Chris Traynor instead of counting on Pulsford’s return, Rossdale said Sunday, shortly before Bush performed at Rock Im Park music festival. Papa Roach will warm up for the Anger Management Tour with a string of club dates and radio festivals this month and next. The rockers are playing four small venues in Northern California this week, in and nearby their hometown of Vacaville, before heading overseas for a few festivals and then returning to the States in late May.
