Marilyn Manson has been left off the bill for the Rochester, New York date of this summer’s OzzFest tour, reports the Democrat And Chronicle newspaper. A spokesperson at the Six Flags Darien Lake in Rochester, Laura Spallone, told the publication, “Several people in the area expressed an uncomfortable feeling about having that artist in our area.” Tour promoters Clear Channel chose to not back Manson and preferred to stay out of the controversy surrounding the August 11 date at the Darien Center. But the alternametal band’s frontman has been confined to a Los Angeles-area hospital since Friday battling a mystery malady, the group’s label has announced. The custom-made, left-handed 1965 Sunburst Fender Stratocaster will be the highlight of a “Rock Legend” sale run by auctioneers Cooper Owen. “Hendrix reaches the highest price, there is no doubt,” a spokesman said. “He is well ahead of everyone else.” Hendrix, whose ground-breaking style continues to influence rock guitarists, pulls in major bids at auction. Southern rock outfit Kings Of Leon will release its RCA debut, “Youth and Young Manhood,” July 7 internationally and July 22 in North America.
