The Rolling Stones’ performance at the “SARSfest” extravaganza in Toronto last July will be released on DVD next spring. The Stones’ tour manager, Michael Cohl, told the Toronto Sun that all 13 performers at the July 30 Downsview Park concert were recorded and should be included in the DVD, but it’s not known if the entire concert will be released. “We’re hoping by April or May to have it out,” Cohl said. Once again the Swiss are remaining neutral. Swiss authorities have decided not to press charges against the rock ‘n’ roll oddity in the wake of a criminal investigation following complaints from a religious group offended by Manson’s February 2001 concert in Zurich. The city’s examining magistrate, Marcel Scherrer, declared on Monday that his office had found no evidence to suggest that Manson (real name: Brian Warner) incited violence or breached Swiss law that protects the sanctity of religion. The Lostprophets are preparing for the release of Start Something, the successor to the group’s 2001 independently released, The Fake Sound of Progress. Marilyn Manson was the target of a protest Thursday (October 16) by dozens of bible-waving evangelical Christians in Monterrey, Mexico, according to Reuters. About 100 people prayed and sang hymns for the soul of the shock rocker, who performs in the northern Mexican city on November 5. Organizer Arsenia Campos, whose daughter was murdered last year by a young man claiming to be involved with a Satanic cult, said, “We are praying for him so that he can know God and become transformed.” Despite the protest, concert promoters said the show would go on.
