A man has been charged with demanding $25,000 from rapper Lil’ Kim to return a necklace that went missing from her luggage at the airport. John Acheson of New Rochelle was charged with attempted grand larceny, attempted grand larceny by extortion and attempted coercion, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said in a statement Monday. The 31-year-old was being held Monday pending arraignment, the DA said, and was unavailable for comment. Rapper Lil’ Kim got her bling-bling back. An estimated $250,000 worth of jewelry belonging to the hip-hop performer and producer was recovered Friday at Kennedy International Airport, where it had disappeared one week earlier. The missing jewelry, including her signature diamond-encrusted “Queen Bee” necklace, was found wrapped inside a rag by a United Airlines worker in a locker room for airline employees, her attorney Mel Sachs said Saturday. The notoriously fashion-conscious rapper Lil’ Kim lost some of her most precious accessories – $250,000 worth to be precise – on Friday while waiting to fly to Los Angeles for the BET Awards. Kim was boarding an 8:45 a.m. flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York when she noticed she’d accidentally checked a carry-on bag that contained her jewels, including her trademark crowned “B” necklace that bears the logo of her label, Queen Bee Records.
