If Fu Manchu were hoping to find a few friendly faces when unveiling new material Tuesday night at the Troubadour, the stoner rock outfit was undoubtedly stoked by the warm welcome it found. Las Vegas wasn’t paradise city for Slash when he tried to check out Guns N’ Roses at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino late last month. It seems the band’s former guitarist wasn’t welcome to the jungle. Slash, who quit the group in 1996 and later formed Slash’s Snakepit, said he was in Vegas on vacation when he learned that GN’R would be playing there in two weeks’ time, on New Year’s Eve and two days before. Clear Channel has identified 150 songs that are considered to be “lyrically inappropriate” for airplay in the wake of the terror attacks carried out in the U.S. on Tuesday, September 11. A Clear Channel spokesperson has confirmed that the list has been circulated among its stations across the country. The lyrical content targeted by the list includes any references to death, flying, September, or general destruction.
