The son of hip-hop legend KRS-One was found dead in his apartment in an apparent suicide, authorities said Tuesday. Randy Hubbard Parker, 23, died of a gunshot wound to the head and the death was classified as a suicide, said Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office investigator Mark Guilbeau. Parker had suffered a long battle with depression, his mother, Simone G. Parker, said in a statement on Tuesday. He was found on Friday. The Beastie Boys have revealed the tracklisting for their new album The Mix Up. As previously reported exclusively by NME.com, band member Mike D said that the follow up to 2004’s To The 5 Boroughs would be “radically different” to its predecessor and the sound will hark back to the style of 1992’s Check Your Head and 1989’s Paul’s Boutique. Rage Against The Machine played its first show in seven years last night (April 29) to close the 2007 edition of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif. The foursome tore into staples like “Testify,” “Bulls on Parade,” “People of the Sun” and “Guerrilla Radio” to one of the largest main stage crowds in the event’s history. The boys of D12 may have named their latest release D12 World, but so far the rap crew only has tour plans for the United States. A full itinerary is still coming together, but the group is set to kick things off June 19 in Milwaukee, wrapping up a month later in Atlanta. D12 will play a special Fourth of July show in Tempe, Arizona. Fellow Motor City hip-hop group Slum Village and Southern rapper Bone Crusher will join them as opening acts. Hanson have lined up a nineteen-date U.S. tour behind their independently released new album Underneath. The trio of Hanson siblings – guitarist Isaac, 23; keyboardist Taylor, 20; and drummer Zac, 18 – kick things off on July 5th in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Two shows, July 14th and 16th, are set for Hanson’s adopted home base of New York City, and the tour is set to close on August 7th in their original hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Melisma/Atlantic rock group matchbox twenty is returning to the North American concert circuit this fall for a major cross-continental tour. Slated to open on September 24th in Tallahassee, Florida, the itinerary will keep the band on the road through the end of the year. The first two weeks of shows have just been announced, with more dates being added daily.
