Lopez Remix Disc Rides High


Familiar tunes made registers ring at the nation’s music retailers last week as a remix collection, three hits compilations, a reshaped album and a live disc were the top 40 debuts. Epic’s “J to Tha L-O!,” a potpourri of remixes of Jennifer Lopez songs from her first two albums, took the top slot on sales of 155,000 in the week ended Sunday, according to SoundScan figures. “Ultimate Manilow,” Arista’s collection of Barry Manilow hits from the 1970s and ’80s, made an impressive debut at No. 3 on sales of 113,000. Sirius Debuts New Web Site


Sirius Satellite Radio, the satellite radio broadcaster, today unveiled its redesigned web site, offering live streaming of its 60 commercial-free music channels. Created to serve as an interactive complement to Sirius’ broadcast programming, www.siriusradio.com also features “customer command,” which allows consumers to subscribe and manage their Sirius accounts online and interact with customer service representatives 24 hours a day, seven days a week, via live chat and e-mail.
