Lopez Remix Disc Rides High
Familiar tunes made registers ring at the nation’s music retailers last week as a remix collection, three hits compilations, a reshaped album and a live disc were the top 40 debuts. Epic’s “J to Tha L-O!,” a potpourri of remixes of Jennifer Lopez songs from her first two albums, took the top slot on sales of 155,000 in the week ended Sunday, according to SoundScan figures. “Ultimate Manilow,” Arista’s collection of Barry Manilow hits from the 1970s and ’80s, made an impressive debut at No. 3 on sales of 113,000.
