"Civic Tour" Hits Hot Import Nights

Civic Tour 2003, the hugely successful Honda and Alpine music tour partnership, is extending beyond the traditional concert venues that entertained nearly 400,000 young fans of rockers New Found Glory, Good Charlotte and special guests Less Than Jake and MxPx, at 50 concert stops across the U.S. American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and Alpine Electronics of America aren’t letting the music stop as they extend the non-stop energy of Civic Tour through featured appearances at select Hot Import Nights (HIN) events across the country this summer. Mariah vs. Eminem

Mariah Carey’s unlikely to give Eminem a charm bracelet, much less extend an olive branch. The pissed-off pop songstress, who’s relaxing in the Caribbean before setting sail on a six-month world tour in support of her new album, Charmbracelet, had some pointed words for the rap superstar after hearing reports that Em threatened to include samples of several rambling voicemail messages she left him in an upcoming tune. “I don’t know what the hell he’s doing,” Carey grouses in the New York Daily News on Thursday. “It’s a little excessive. Doesn’t it seem a little bit girly? Like we’re in… Read more »

iTunes Music Store Tops Two Million Song Downloads

Apple(R) today announced that over two million songs have been purchased and downloaded from its revolutionary iTunes(R) Music Store since its debut 16 days ago. Continuing the trend set during the first week, over half of the songs purchased to date were purchased as albums, further dispelling concerns that selling music on a per-track basis will destroy album sales. “Response to the iTunes Music Store has been phenomenal – we’ve clearly hit a chord with users,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’re adding new songs every day, giving music lovers even more reasons to legally download their favorite music.” The… Read more »

Limp Bizkit On Anti-War Celebrities Boycott List

A columnist at the New York Post has run an article called “Don’t Aid These Saddam Lovers” in an attempt to start a boycott against celebrities who have made their anti-war feelings known. Richard Johnson-who usually writes gossip for the tabloid-style newspaper-has apparently branched out into political commentary, and urges his readers to stop supporting movies, television shows, concerts, and albums by artists Johnson deems unpatriotic. Among the targeted stars are Fred Durst and his band, Limp Bizkit-whose fans, Johnson implies, are too stupid to even “know what Iraq is”-as well as Samuel L. Jackson (called a “drone” in the… Read more »
