Multi-platinum recording artist/skater girl Avril Lavigne has called upon fellow Canadians Simple Plan to join her on her first-ever, North American headline tour. Bush guitarist Nigel Pulsford’s break from touring now looks to be a permanent vacation from the band he co-founded a decade ago with frontman Gavin Rossdale. The British rockers will continue with ex-Helmet guitarist Chris Traynor instead of counting on Pulsford’s return, Rossdale said Sunday, shortly before Bush performed at Rock Im Park music festival. Lit has unknowingly got some firefighters in New Jersey in hot water after the band visited their firehouse and performed for the firefighters earlier this month. Fire District officials in Woodbridge, New Jersey are investigating claims that Iselin Fire District 11 was the host of a party featuring Lit, who toured the firehouse, tried on helmets and coats, and then performed an all-request show for the firefighters. After 14 years of brain-frazzling albums and concerts, industrial metal pioneers Godflesh have abruptly broken up. The band was preparing to tour the U.S. with High on Fire and Halo when frontman Justin Broadrick suffered a nervous breakdown just before boarding a flight to San Diego, where Godflesh were scheduled to start their tour April 22, according to a band spokesperson. “Unable to make the trip, never mind perform a two-month tour, Justin has decided to call it quits.
