In Mishawaka, Indiana, 250 students staged a walkout to protest a no-music rule, while a music teacher in Tipton, Iowa, resigned after administrators asked her to halt a student-group research project on Eminem. Music was banned on all Penn-Harris-Madison School Corp. buses February 23 in Mishawka, after a parent complained that her child, an elementary student, was exposed to the graphic lyrics of Shaggy’s “It Wasn’t Me” on the bus radio. Eminem, less than a week after picking up three Grammy Awards, grabbed best international male solo artist honors Monday night at the 21st Brit Awards. Local favorite Robbie Williams was the night’s big winner, taking home three Brits, including best male solo artist. Elton/Eminem Duet To Be Released As Single, Recording Academy Says


Eminem’s hotly debated duet with Elton John at this week’s Grammys is turning up on radio stations across the country, and the Recording Academy and Interscope Records are making plans to release the live “Stan” as a benefit single, an academy spokesperson said Friday (February 23). A portion of the proceeds will benefit MusiCares, established by the academy in 1989 to offer emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery programs to musicians. Perennial award-winner Paul Simon and teen rapper Lil Bow Wow will perform at the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards, the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences announced Monday. Simon is nominated for album of the year for “You’re the One.” He has previously won album of the year three times and already owns 16 Grammys. Grammy Performer Lineup Continues To Grow


The Grammys have announced additional performers for the awards ceremony. Macy Gray, Sheryl Crow, Shelby Lynne, Moby, Jill Scott, the Blue Man Group and classical pianist Marc-AndrÈ Hamelin will also take the stage of Los Angeles’ Staples Center for the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards on February 21st.
