Atlantic Records has announced the forthcoming release of the new studio album from Tori Amos. Entitled “STRANGE LITTLE GIRLS,” this assemblage of songs is due in stores on September 18th. Internet media network Yahoo! Inc. said on Thursday it plans to buy Webcasting company Launch Media Inc. for $12 million in an effort to boost its own music properties, which have failed to gain traction over the last two years. Yahoo is betting that Launch, which designed a Web service that tailors Internet radio playlists to the tastes of individual users, would provide key features to complement its music services. While Radiohead’s latest album, Amnesiac, is destined for RIAA certification after selling more than 232,000 copies its first week, the Oxford-based quintet is also going for the gold with the song “I Might Be Wrong.” The International Olympic Committee will use the track in upcoming TV spots for the Winter Games taking place in Salt Lake City in February, according to drummer Phil Selway.
