Tom Petty Changes Bassist, Adds Dates For Summer Tour


Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers will launch a North American tour on June 27 in Grand Rapids, Michigan-and the band’s original bassist Ron Blair, who left the band in 1982, will return to the fold to replace Howie Epstein. A quarter-century after they shot to infamy with the scathing anti-royal song “God Save the Queen,” the Sex Pistols are reuniting in the summer of Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee. The legendary punk band will perform July 27 at London’s Crystal Palace sports center, singer John Lydon said today (May 16). Britney, Beyonce Power Soundtrack


Britney Spears’ next single “Boys,” from her latest album Britney, will do double duty as one of the upcoming singles from the soundtrack to Austin Powers in Goldmember. The soundtrack version, however, will be an exclusive remix of the track by the ubiquitous production duo, the Neptunes, who worked on Britney as well. Austin Powers will appear in Britney Spears’ video for “Boys,” the Neptunes-produced next single from Britney (2001) and the first release from the “Austin Powers in Goldmember” soundtrack. Elton John performed at Buckingham Palace – but Queen Elizabeth II was not at home to hear him. The singer recorded a song to be played at a concert in honor of the queen’s Golden Jubilee on June 3.
