Britney Spears’ next single “Boys,” from her latest album Britney, will do double duty as one of the upcoming singles from the soundtrack to Austin Powers in Goldmember. The soundtrack version, however, will be an exclusive remix of the track by the ubiquitous production duo, the Neptunes, who worked on Britney as well. The “Boys” remix is tentatively set as the second single from the soundtrack. Beyonce Knowles’ “Work It Out” is expected to be the first single and will hit radio in early June. Britney, Austin Powers Team Up For Video, Commercial


Austin Powers will appear in Britney Spears’ video for “Boys,” the Neptunes-produced next single from Britney (2001) and the first release from the “Austin Powers in Goldmember” soundtrack. Spears and Mike Myers, the man behind the international man of mystery, are filming the clip in a Hollywood mansion Tuesday (May 14) and Wednesday, according to Spears’ Jive Records spokesperson. Elton John Performs at Buckingham


Elton John performed at Buckingham Palace – but Queen Elizabeth II was not at home to hear him. The singer recorded a song to be played at a concert in honor of the queen’s Golden Jubilee on June 3. Layne Staley, Alice In Chains Singer, Dead At 34


Alice in Chains’ Layne Staley was found dead in his Seattle home on Friday evening. The King County Medical Examiner positively identified Staley’s body on Saturday (April 20), following an autopsy. Exact time and cause of death are pending, as laboratory results could take several weeks, a spokesperson said. Staley was 34.
