Radiohead Broadcast U.S. Tour Dates


Along with the release of Amnesiac Tuesday (June 5) and a trippy new video on the air, Radiohead announced a dozen more summer U.S. tour dates. Following seven previously announced shows between June 18 in Spring, Texas, and June 30 in Santa Barbara, California, the British prog-rockers will kick off a second leg of the tour July 30 in Atlanta. Bertelsmann To Sell Units


As the German media giant prepares for a possible IPO, the company will shed some of its non-core businesses to cuts costs. According to the Financial Times, Bertelsmann will sell off some of its operations as it prepares for a possible stock market flotation. Stone Temple Pilots are vying to be the first band in space. Eminem To Join Warped Tour?


Looks like this year’s Vans Warped Tour could get at least one controversial guest appearance. With Eminem’s latest rap group D12 now officially hitting the road with all the punkers on the big summer fest, fans can expect the infamous Marshall Mathers to pop up for surprise performances as well. Madonna Brings Music To HBO


Madonna is the latest jewel in the crown that has become HBO’s original music programming. Launch Lays Off 60 Employees, Secures Funding Amidst Shrinking Revenue


Launch announced that it will eliminate approximately 60 positions, reducing its staff levels to a total of 175 while consolidating its Santa Monica operations into one facility. Additionally, the company discontinued its European expansion plans. The company reported that net revenues for the first quarter of 2001 were $3.8 million, compared to $6.4 million for the same quarter last year. Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst, eager to become a movie director, is now eyeing a different project on which to make his debut. Daily Variety reported on Monday that he would shoot “Life Without Joe,” a thriller described as “Deliverance” for the younger set.
