While Floridian metalcore sextet Underoath were recording 2006’s Define the Great Line a little more than a year ago, the band’s drummer, Aaron Gillespie, found himself writing straight-up rock tunes, material that he realized wouldn’t fit with Underoath’s vicious style. If these songs were to be heard someday, he knew he’d have to release them himself. A film based on the UK rockers Johnny Depp could be in line to play famed performer Freddie Mercury, according to recent reports. The Hollywood star, who was also recently linked to a biopic about hard rocker Ozzie Osborne, is said to be the first choice to play Mercury in a biopic financed and produced by Robert de Niro’s film company Tribeca Productions.
