Alien Ant Farm, Fenix TX and Glassjaw are among the bands on board for the seventh annual SnoCore festival. Like last year, SnoCore will once again be split into two factions: SnoCore Rock and SnoCore Icicle Ball, which adopts a more eclectic, avant-garde vibe. AAF and the like-minded rock lineup will kick things off February 15 in Providence, Rhode Island, according to the tour’s publicist. Prince was married in Hawaii on New Year’s Eve, to girlfriend Manuela Testolini. Testolini, 25, is 18 years younger than Prince (43). According to reports by KMSP-TV, Testolini-a former employee at Prince’s Paisley Park Studios-and the singer tied the knot in a small Jehovah’s Witness ceremony. Las Vegas wasn’t paradise city for Slash when he tried to check out Guns N’ Roses at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino late last month. It seems the band’s former guitarist wasn’t welcome to the jungle. Slash, who quit the group in 1996 and later formed Slash’s Snakepit, said he was in Vegas on vacation when he learned that GN’R would be playing there in two weeks’ time, on New Year’s Eve and two days before. Star 98.7’s Not So Silent Night certainly won’t be remembered as the most exciting local holiday concert this year, especially considering the high ticket price and modest artist lineup, though attendees were treated to a sneak of Alanis Morissette’s upcoming third U.S. studio album. The commercial decline of headliner Garbage gave the sold-out event an anticlimactic air. MCA Records Senior Vice President of Promotion Craig Lambert today announced the appointment of Johnny Coppola to the post of vice president of promotion. In his new post Coppola will oversee national radio and dance promotion for all rhythm, crossover, and dance-oriented artists and releases. Coppola is based at MCA’s Santa Monica headquarters.
