It’s always a bittersweet moment to know you’ve watched your favorite band perform their last show. Everyone deserves a break, and performing is no easy task, but there’s something so special in the air when a band like Sum 41 takes to the stage. Notably, the iconic pop-punk band took their final bow on their international tour. They concluded their whirlwind route in Toronto at Scotiabank Arena on January 30. System Of A Down may have been released “Toxicity” back in 2001 on the album of the same name, but it remains one of the most iconic tracks and music videos in rock music. In fact, the music video has officially crossed the one billion views mark on YouTube. This is their second music video to hit this milestone. Following the release of their latest single titled “Puppets Can’t Control You,” ONE OK ROCK has announced the North American run of the Detox Tour with support from Stand Atlantic. The tour is slated to kick off in Canada on May 13, following the release of the group’s forthcoming full-length album, DETOX, arriving via Fueled By Ramen on February 21. On October 8, 2024, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley launched his official memoir, Walking Disaster: My Life Through Heaven and Hell. In it, he shares photos and a variety of anecdotes about his childhood, experiences in the pop-punk scene, details of high-profile relationships, and near-death experiences. He also outlined the sexual and verbal abuse he allegedly suffered at the hands of the band’s former manager, Greig Nori. Now, both Nori and Whibley are suing each other in a court of law. LØLØ launched her debut album falling for robots & wishing i was one in June via Hopeless Records, and we’ve been obsessed with it ever since. The artist decided to be even more iconic and drop a new rendition of “hot girls in hell,” and this time, it’s the sad version. The Dirty Nil has shared an official live music video from their November Let There Be Nil hometown show at New Vision Church in Hamilton, Ontario. Following the “difficult decision” to cancel their show in Brisbane, Australia yesterday, Sum 41 has been forced to cancel the remainder of their Aussie run due to vocalist Deryck Whibley’s health. In their initial statement announcing this cancellation, the band explains that Whibley has been diagnosed with pneumonia. They share, “He is receiving the best possible local care…” Unfortunately, the group has now been forced to cancel the remainder of the tour due to Whibley’s ongoing health diagnosis. Following the success of her massive 2024 Greatest Hits Tour, the pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne is gearing up for a second round. Part two of the tour kicks off in May 2025, ahead of Memorial Day weekend. Joining Lavigne on the road are Simple Plan, Fefe Dobson, and We The Kings.
