Pet Shop Boys To Spend Summer On The Road


Veteran British electronic duo Pet Shop Boys has lined up a spring/summer world tour due to kick off May 14 in Miami. The trek crosses over to Europe beginning June 12 in Madrid and concludes with 12 dates in the group’s U.K. home base. It comes in support of the pair’s eighth EMI studio album, “Release,” which debuts this week at No. 5 on the European Top 100 Albums chart. The set is due April 23 in North America. Backstreet Boys, Lynyrd Skynyrd Kick-Off ClearChannel.Com Relief Fund


In support of the President’s wishes that the country return to its normal routine following yesterday’s tragedies, the Lynyrd Skynyrd and Backstreet Boys performances tonight in Raleigh, North Carolina and Toronto, Ontario, respectively, will be held as originally scheduled. The bands also announced that in honor of the victims and families affected by the tragedies, each group will donate at least $10,000 of tonight’s ticket sales to help kick-off the ClearChannel.com Relief Fund, a newly established fund created by Clear Channel Worldwide. The 18th annual MTV Video Music Awards airs tonight at 8PM EST/PST. Sears And Brian McKnight Announce Partnership For Fall Tour


Brian McKnight has been tapped to join the Sears, Roebuck and Co. family for a nationwide tour that coincides with the release of McKnight’s latest Motown project, “superhero,” streeting Aug. 28. The “Sears Presents An Evening With Brian McKnight” tour kicks off in Cleveland on Sept. 19, with stops in 38 cities, wrapping up in Hawaii in December. Backstreet Boys Postpone Tour As A.J. McLean Seeks Treatment


The Backstreet Boys have postponed the next month of their Black & Blue world tour to allow the group’s A.J. McLean to get treatment for alcohol abuse, depression and anxiety. The other four members of the group told MTV News on Monday (July 9) that they will postpone all dates of their tour until an August 7 show in Vancouver, British Columbia.
