Madonna on Song for Latest Bond Film


Madonna will perform a song for the next James Bond film but will not be acting in it, her publicist said on Friday. Blige Brings New 'Drama' to Top 10


MCA’s revamped version of Mary J. Blige’s “No More Drama” powered the disc’s 18-place jump to No. 10 on the U.S. pop charts in a week that saw the nation’s top nine albums remain in the same spots as last week. The Stone Pony, a mecca for fans of Jersey shore rock ‘n’ roll, appears to have survived a brush with destruction, officials said on Thursday. The dilapidated nightclub, a musical home to such legends as Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith, will be incorporated into a tentative plan to help revitalize the decayed beachfront of Asbury Park, New Jersey, they said. Morissette, Korn, Papa Roach join Caracas festival


Canadian singer Alanis Morissette, U.S. bands Korn and Papa Roach, and Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters will be among the featured stars at the Caracas Pop Festival in March, organizers said on Friday. The second annual edition of the festival – which last year attracted Oasis, Sting and Christina Aguilera – will take place in a 35,000-seat open-air stadium near Venezuela’s steamy Caribbean capital Caracas. Pressplay hopes to run on Macintosh this year


Pressplay, a Web music service owned by Sony Corp. and Vivendi Universal Thursday said it hopes to make its online service available to Apple Computer Inc.’s Macintosh computers sometime this year. “We are hoping that sometime this year that Pressplay will be available (on Macs), although we can’t guarantee,” said Andy Schuon, chief executive officer of Pressplay, during a conference call hosted by research firm Jupiter Media Metrix.
