Loss Widens at XM Satellite Radio


XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. reported a wider net loss for the fourth quarter of 2004 on Thursday as the company bulked up on new subscribers, adding more than 700,000 in the latest quarter to top 3.2 million users. XM, which is based in Washington, D.C., reported a net loss attributable to common shareholders of $190.3 million for the last three months of 2004, more than the loss of $170.2 million reported in the comparable period a year ago. Rock Singer Spends Fourth Night in Jail


London – Rock star Pete Doherty has spent a fourth night in jail after he was imprisoned following charges of robbery and blackmail. The ex-Libertines singer would have been released on 150,000 pounds bail last Friday but he failed to come up with the money in time and a court sent him to prison. Artemis Chief Abruptly Exits Label


Artemis Records chairman/CEO Danny Goldberg is leaving the independent label he founded in 1999 due to what sources said Wednesday were “philosophical differences” with its owners. Artemis president Daniel Glass has been elevated to president/CEO of the label, which is the home of such acts as Steve Earle, Pretenders, Kittie and the late Warren Zevon.
