After years of building a presence in the pop-rock world, glimmers—a duo made up of vocalist Maggie Schneider and guitarist/producer Alex Downtain—are entering their next era with intention and a full-length statement piece. Their debut album, The Art Of Shattering, arrives this Friday, November 7, a 10-track body of work featuring collaborations with Tay Jardine as well as three previously unreleased tracks: “BANDAID,” “Emotional Whiplash,” and “Growing Up (I Guess).”

Today, idobi Radio is exclusively premiering the track, “BANDAID”—a punchy, alt-pop track that cuts straight into the feeling of being someone’s temporary fix instead of their priority.

“The song ‘BANDAID’ is about feeling temporary in someone’s life; a quick fix when you want to be there for the long haul,” Schneider shares. “Whether it’s a fake friend or a situationship, I think we can all relate to feeling used in one way or another.”

Written quickly and instinctively, “BANDAID” carries a sharper edge than previous singles, pairing glimmers’ signature emotional clarity with a grittier pop-rock bite. “Alex and I wrote this song really fast, much faster than other songs on the record,” Schneider continues. “We wanted to add an edgier element to the record that we felt was missing… after talking about the symbolism of band-aids on a long car drive home, the lyrics began to pour out. We just knew it had to be on the record.”

The Art Of Shattering is built around color—each track tied to a different emotional shade. From the fiery red of angst (“False Hope”) to the deflated blue of burnout (“Jaded”), the album maps out what it means to break, heal, and rebuild as an independent artist. “It’s about the highs and lows of chasing your dreams, finding beauty in what’s broken, and growing stronger because of it,” Schneider says. “As an independent band, we hope it resonates with fans and empowers them to do what they love.”

glimmers will celebrate the album’s release with a performance at Ceremony Fest in Nashville, TN, this Saturday, November 8.
