Geek Girl Riot is more theatrical than ever with Riotous conversations about Queen Charlotte, Aladdin the Musical with stars Adi Roy and Marcus M. Martin, and Schmigadoon! season 2.

Broadway Calls: Aladdin & Genie
Sherin sits down with Adi Roy (aka Aladdin) and Marcus M. Martin (aka Genie) to talk all about Aladdin, the musical bringing the magical story to stages across North America. They talk about what it means to fill the shoes of such legendary characters, working with the incredible creative team behind the musical, and what universe they’d love to explore (using their magic wishes carefully, of course).

Schmigadoon! Season 2
Nell Minow jumps on with Sherin to chat about Schmigadoon! season 2, which is streaming now on Apple TV+. They ring the Spoiler Siren and dive right into their love for the series and how it pays homage to other beloved musicals. Sherin says, “Keegan-Michael Key does not get enough credit for how versatile and talented he is—he has quietly been building an incredible career. He’s a magnificent singer with a full range of emotions that I love in Schmigadoon!

Queen Charlotte
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story was the only royal event we cared about over the weekend—the wildly anticipated series dropped on Netflix on Friday! Mae Abdulbaki takes over with Sherin to flutter their fans, swoon over what they loved, and cast some royal-level shade at the series. They also shout out the Netflix event they attended at the Smithsonian in DC to celebrate the premiere, featuring Betsy Beers, Corey Mylchreest, India Amarteifio, Shonda Rhimes, Golda Rosheuvel, Ted Sarandos, Arsema Thomas, and Tom Verica.

Queen Charlotte brings the eponymous character’s younger days to the screen, pulling from the history books as well as the rich romance genre. Did the series live up to their expectations? What were the standout scenes? What do they want more of from the ’ton? Settle in for all the piping hot tea with Sherin and Mae as they ring the Spoiler Siren and cover the expanse of the series, the Bridgerton franchise, and their love for historical romance.

Tune in to Geek Girl Riot on idobi Radio every Tuesday at 11pm ET / 8pm PT
for your dose of late-night geekery.
