Mrs & Mr Spy Second Helping

We know how much y’all loved our Mrs & Mr Spy episode last year and now we’re back for another mission. Hear our Rioters’ hot takes on the Grammys, Argylle, Mr & Mrs Smith, Wild Cards, and the new Avatar: The Last Airbender trailer.

Grammys Early Wins + Argylle
Sherin and Julian kick off the show with some of their personal highlights and surprises at the Grammys. They also mention UMG’s current beef with TikTok and how social media shapes music promotion. That leads them into their beef with Argylle and why everything about this movie set them up for disappointment (read Sherin’s review for more).

Mr & Mrs Smith + Wild Cards
We’re in the age of remakes, which means Prime Video is trying its hand at Mr & Mrs Smith (read Julian’s review). While the new series takes the story in a different direction, did it live up to the original film? Did it give us the thrills & chemistry our Rioters wanted? You’ll have to listen and find out. And stay tuned to hear all about Wild Cards on The CW as Sherin tells Julian why she highly recommends it.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Trailer + Fan Reaction to Interviews
In case you’ve been living under a rock, we’ll tell you what has set the internet on fire: Netflix recently dropped the trailer for their live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. To add to the flames of trepidation, interviews have started to come out about some impending changes to the story, including the show’s inexplicable plan to remove one of Sokka’s most important character arcs, along with their aim to appeal to Game of Thrones fans (huh?). Sherin and Julian dig into it, breaking down all the ways Avatar: The Last Airbender’s promotion has given them more anger issues than Zuko.

Tune in to Geek Girl Riot on idobi Radio every Tuesday at 11pm ET / 8pm PT
for your dose of late-night geekery.
