It started the way most ideas start—as a casual conversation. And it turned into something incredible. Rejected Princesses is a project turned brand new book (out October 25!), with a tagline that reads, “women too awesome, awful, or offbeat for kids’ movies”. While working at DreamWorks Animation, Jason Porath had the idea for Rejected Princesses, it went viral, and now his full time job is to shine the light on women who you never got to hear about in history class—and he took some time out of his crazy schedule to talk about his project, the complex processes of creating animation, and a whole lot more. Along the way, we discovered Porath is a real life walking rabbit hole; so on Geek Girl Riot’s latest Whachudoin’, we’re diving down said rabbit hole, so far down into the land where time stands still and the internet is on a whole new level of weirdness, where Japanese memes lurk and Jason spends most of his limited free moments.
