Linkin Park took some time off in between OzzFest dates to lens the video for its next single, “In The End” last week. DJ Joseph Hahn and Nathan Cox co-produced the clip, which was shot in Culver City, California. It depicts the band playing in a desert, which comes to life as the video progresses. Linkin Park & Staind Rack Up Multiplatinum Honors


Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory and Staind’s new release Break The Cycle have been certified double platinum for sales of 2 million copies, according to the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA). 3 Doors Down’s debut album The Better Life, has surpassed 5 million copies as certified by the RIAA, and Tool’s Lateralus has reached the platinum mark. Linkin Park Singer Guests On Cyclefly's Next Album


Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington was apparently impressed by the band’s performance when he saw them group live at the Whisky in West Hollywood, Calif., in the summer of 1999 (singer Declan O’Shea’s shockingly bright red hair, pixie body, pale white skin, and piercing vocals make the band impossible to be overlooked live). Linkin Park Responds To School Shooting


In the latest attempt to link music and school violence, the songs of California pop-metal band Linkin Park are being implicated in Monday’s Santee, Calif., shooting, in which 15-year-old Charles “Andy” Williams opened fire on his Santana High schoolmates, killing two and wounding 13. A friend of Williams’ appearing on NBC’s Today show said that Williams was a fan of the band and that he was influenced by three songs on the band’s Hybrid Theory album: “One Step Closer,” “Papercut,” and “In the End.” Linkin Park released a one-sentence statement about the shooting via its publicist.
