Boston native Joey McIntyre will host the 15th annual Boston Music Awards (BMAs) at the city’s 2,700-seat Orpheum Theatre on Thursday (April 11). Acts scheduled to perform at the event include Godsmack, American Hi-Fi, Reveille, Bill Morrissey, Kay Hanley, Tracy Bonham, Tribe of Judah, Must, the Sheila Devine, Mission Of Burma, and, of course, McIntyre. The solo acoustic shows come in support of the artist’s upcoming Vagrant solo album, “Stereo,” due April 23. While they won’t have Linkin Park and Staind along for the ride this time, Stone Temple Pilots will return to the road next month for a 16-date tour. The band, which headlined the Family Values Tour last year, will make several festival appearances and will play more intimate headlining gigs dubbed “A Night With Stone Temple Pilots,” according to the group’s management. They’ve been absent from the scene for a while, and after the release of Fieldy’s album Rock N Roll Gangster in January, some folks might be wondering what’s up with Korn. Well, the band wants everyone to know it’s here to stay. Having just completed a seven-date invasion of Mexico and South America with Static-X, Korn will return to North America to conquer their native land.
