Satellite Radio Orbits For Profit


The dueling satellite radio companies need to rein in previous expectations, but they are still poised to create thriving new businesses that will challenge terrestrial radio, a new report suggests. In a research paper titled “Satellite Radio: Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car,” Webnoize Inc. estimates that 19.1 million Americans will subscribe to either the XM Satellite Radio or the Sirius Satellite Radio service by 2005, representing 9.3% of the adult population in the United States. Depeche Mode Plan Summer North American Tour


Sulky Depeche Mode fans finally have something to smile about – the seminal synth-pop trio are launching a North American tour beginning June 15. The band – singer Dave Gahan and keyboardists Andrew Fletcher and Martin Gore – will embark on its first road trip in more than three years to support May’s Exciter, kicking things off in Montreal and winding through the United States before wrapping up August 14 in Los Angeles. Papa Roach Planning To 'Raid The Nation'


Alt-metal act Papa Roach will hit the road in March on what the band has dubbed the Raid The Nation tour. Supporting will be Orgy and Alien Ant Farm, the later being the first signing to Papa Roach’s New Noize imprint. The tour will kick off March 17 in New Orleans. Papa Roach, which also has plans to join the mainstage line-up of this year’s Ozzfest, is nominated for a best new artist Grammy.
