Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter is once again at the top of the charts – this time in high-speed powerboat racing. The 22-year-old pop star watched his team, Nick Carter Racing, win the first race of this year’s American Power Boat Association Offshore Tour on Sunday. Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, the effervescent, sometimes volatile rapping member of the Grammy-winning trio TLC, was killed in a car crash in Honduras, her record company said early Friday. Lopes, who would have turned 31 next month, was in the Central American nation for a vacation, Arista Records’ senior vice president of publicity Laura Swanson told The Associated Press. Dick Clark is suing the operator of the historic Queen Mary ocean liner, alleging that fraud and breach of contract prevented construction of a music-themed museum as part of a $150 million tourism project. The Superior Court lawsuit filed this month by Delaware-based Dick Clark Communications claims Queens Seaport Development breached an October 1999 agreement to develop and maintain Dick Clark’s Great American Music Experience.
