Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has tentatively settled a lawsuit against the Rockstar energy drink company over the use of his picture to promote the product. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed in court papers filed Friday in Superior Court. A call to Rockstar Beverage Corp.’s attorney was not immediately returned Monday. Barker’s lawyer, Gregory Weisman, said both parties were still working out terms. He declined to elaborate until the deal is completed. Travis Barker Gets Down with Rap While Arm Heals

For (+44) drummer Travis Barker, it seems what slows down one of his passions – most recently, his still-broken arm – only makes him stronger at others. Barker busted his arm in September during the band’s video shoot for single “When Your Heart Stops Beating” and subsequently had to back out of touring duties. But he’s passed the time picking up a couple of production credits on upcoming albums by rappers Paul Wall and Juelz Santana. “[My broken arm] kind of left me to where it’s the only thing I can do right now, honestly,” Barker said of making beats.… Read more »

Travis Barker Calls His Plus-44 Side Project 'Way Out There'

Lately, it seems like Travis Barker’s schedule consists of puking in his bathroom, taking illicit smoke breaks before meeting with his wedding planner, chewing out said wedding planner and then buying punky Dior purses for his wife, Shanna. At least, that’s what we’re led to believe on “Meet the Barkers.” But it turns out the former Blink-182 drummer and current star of reality TV has been really, really busy as of late, cranking out tunes for his electronic side project, Plus-44, which he formed with Blink’s Mark Hoppus and Carol Heller, formerly of Cali-punks Get the Girl. When MTV News… Read more »

In his continuing bid to be the hardest-working man in rock, Travis Barker has piled a few new endeavors onto his overstuffed plate. On top of firming up plans for side project the Transplants to drop their debut LP, setting off on the road with Box Car Racer, and preparing the new Blink-182 album, the drummer somehow found time to bring his collection of vintage Cadillacs up to 11 with the addition of a ’54 Coup De Ville and ’78 El Dorado. Although the Transplants album doesn’t yet have an official title, it’s scheduled for release October 22, according to… Read more »

Blink-182's Hoppus, Barker Form Electronic Side Project

Ever since that fateful February day when Blink-182 announced they were going on an indefinite hiatus, fans of the band have been clamoring to know just what the future holds for their beloved Mark, Tom and Travis. For the most part the guys have remained silent, aside from a few vaguely worded statements from drummer-turned-reality-TV-star Travis Barker. So MTV News sat down with singer/bassist Mark Hoppus, and while he claimed the group’s current hiatus had been planned for some time, he also made it sound like Blink fans shouldn’t hold their breath for a reunion. “We’ve always planned to have… Read more »

Blink-182 Releasing 'I Miss You' When Barker Takes Break

They used to be irreverent punks out for cheap thrills and even cheaper laughs, but now Blink-182 are a changed band. Their untitled new record is more experimental and multidimensional than 2001’s Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, adding a variety of styles (electronic rock; jangly, melancholy pop; reflective alt-rock) to their foundation of bouncy beats and kinetic guitars. It’s also more lyrically developed, trading tales of adolescent relationships for more serious dilemmas of adulthood. As singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge sang in the band’s 1997 breakthrough hit “Dammit,” “I guess this is growing up.” Growing up has a lot to do… Read more »

Blink 182's Mark Hoppus Wowed By Barker's Drum Set-Up

Blink 182 feels comfortable following Green Day on the Pop Disaster tour partially due to the fact that Travis Barker’s drum set is a show-stopper. Barker’s drum kit rotates, spins, and elevates over the stage during the band’s performance. Blink 182 singer/bassist Mark Hoppus revealed where his wacky drummer got the idea. “Travis is a big fan of Tommy Lee and I think he wanted to try and outdo him for the drum stunt thing. I haven’t actually ever seen the Tommy Lee thing, but I think it would be pretty f-king hard to beat what Travis is doing right… Read more »
