Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has tentatively settled a lawsuit against the Rockstar energy drink company over the use of his picture to promote the product. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed in court papers filed Friday in Superior Court. A call to Rockstar Beverage Corp.’s attorney was not immediately returned Monday. Barker’s lawyer, Gregory Weisman, said both parties were still working out terms. He declined to elaborate until the deal is completed. For (+44) drummer Travis Barker, it seems what slows down one of his passions – most recently, his still-broken arm – only makes him stronger at others. Barker busted his arm in September during the band’s video shoot for single “When Your Heart Stops Beating” and subsequently had to back out of touring duties. In his continuing bid to be the hardest-working man in rock, Travis Barker has piled a few new endeavors onto his overstuffed plate. On top of firming up plans for side project the Transplants to drop their debut LP, setting off on the road with Box Car Racer, and preparing the new Blink-182 album, the drummer somehow found time to bring his collection of vintage Cadillacs up to 11 with the addition of a ’54 Coup De Ville and ’78 El Dorado. Three weeks after narrowly surviving a Learjet plane crash that killed four people in South Carolina, including two of his pals, Travis Barker posted a message on his MySpace blog expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support he and fellow survivor DJ AM have received through their ordeal and giving an update on his condition. Drummer Travis Barker is leaving a European tour with his new band +44 because of an unhealed fractured arm. The former Blink-182 drummer had been on tour despite a fractured right arm he suffered Sept. 9 while filming a video, according to Interscope Records. Barker, 31, will return to Los Angeles to be treated. The band, fronted by former Blink-182 singer and bassist Mark Hoppus, has not announced a replacement drummer. They used to be irreverent punks out for cheap thrills and even cheaper laughs, but now Blink-182 are a changed band. Their untitled new record is more experimental and multidimensional than 2001’s Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, adding a variety of styles (electronic rock; jangly, melancholy pop; reflective alt-rock) to their foundation of bouncy beats and kinetic guitars. Blink 182 feels comfortable following Green Day on the Pop Disaster tour partially due to the fact that Travis Barker’s drum set is a show-stopper. Barker’s drum kit rotates, spins, and elevates over the stage during the band’s performance.
