Aaliyah Mourned As Artist Who Had 'Limitless Potential'


Aaliyah’s friends, family and associates said Sunday (August 26) that they were devastated by the sudden loss of the 22-year-old singer and actress, who died in a plane crash Saturday night. Some of hip-hop’s biggest names had yet to make their way to the Jackie Gleason Theater a few hours before the Source Hip-Hop Music Awards show was to begin taping late Monday afternoon (August 20). Hip hop duo OutKast and newcomer Nelly bested some of the top rap artists in the industry at the Source Hip-Hop Music Awards on Monday night. Incubus Name New Album, Plan Video, Tour


Incubus have named their upcoming album Morning View, after the street on which they recorded it, guitarist Mike Einziger said Wednesday. Due October 23, the album will feature a blend of styles similar to their breakthrough 1999 release, Make Yourself. “It’s really musically diverse, but it’s not like a patchwork quilt with tons of pieces put together. Brian McKnight has been tapped to join the Sears, Roebuck and Co. family for a nationwide tour that coincides with the release of McKnight’s latest Motown project, “superhero,” streeting Aug. 28. Neil Diamond Polishes Off New Album, Plans Tour


Neil Diamond, one of the most dependable touring acts in the music business, will return to the road in September to promote his first album of new material in four years, a spokeswoman said on Sunday.
