The drama behind the scenes of MTV’s white-hot reality comedy “The Osbournes” is starting to get almost as interesting as the show itself. America’s new favorite first family of television has signed with the Endeavor talent agency to help it explore a new deal for a possible second season of the show. Canadian power trio Rush will kick off its first tour in five years June 28 in Hartford, Conn. The 27 confirmed stops are the first in the band’s planned extensive tour in support of its latest Atlantic album, “Vapor Trails,” due May 14. First single “One Little Victory” thundered to a No. 22 debut on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks chart last week. The tour is billed as “An Evening With Rush,” and will not feature an opening act. Goo Goo Dolls have begun confirming dates for a North American tour in support of their latest Warner Bros. album, “Gutterflower,” released this week. The first six dates begin May 23 in Houston and will be preceded by a May 3 show at the Astoria in London. Now that their onstage cred is firmly established, Sevendust are looking to branch out beyond performance-based videos. The group shot two conceptual videos late last month in Toronto with director Noble Jones, who has previously worked with Roland Gift and Default. While they won’t have Linkin Park and Staind along for the ride this time, Stone Temple Pilots will return to the road next month for a 16-date tour. The band, which headlined the Family Values Tour last year, will make several festival appearances and will play more intimate headlining gigs dubbed “A Night With Stone Temple Pilots,” according to the group’s management. No-Cal scenesters, local yokels, friends and even fans of Jason Newsted’s old band showed up in force to witness the launching of Echobrain’s first tour at an all-ages show at the Mystic Theatre. Echobrain, with drummer Brian Sagrafena and singer/guitarist Dylan Donkin, is Newsted’s first steady gig since leaving Metallica in January 2001.
