UK's Sex Pistols to Reissue 'God Save the Queen'


British punk legends the Sex Pistols are to reissue their anarchic song “God Save the Queen” to mark Queen Elizabeth’s 50 years on the throne, their record company said Thursday. “(The record) is to be reissued around the Golden Jubilee celebrations on May 27,” Virgin Records said in a statement. “It will feature the original artwork.” The single’s anti-royal lyrics and cover image of the queen with a safety pin through her nose caused outrage on its first release in 1977. U.S. imposes sanctions on Ukraine in CD piracy row


The United States on Thursday imposed sanctions on $75 million worth of metals, footwear and other goods from Ukraine in retaliation for piracy of music compact discs and other optical media products in that country. Jimmy Eat World have announced details of a two-date headlining UK tour and seven dates supporting Blink 182 in January 2002. The band’s next single has also been confirmed. Evan & Jaron have taken time out from working on new songs to celebrate Hanukkah, which starts at sundown Sunday (December 9). Liquid Audio Rebukes Network Commerce


Liquid Audio confirmed yesterday that after reviewing the claims made against the company in a lawsuit recently filed by Network Commerce it believes the complaint has no merit and has accordingly filed a motion to dismiss the case. Janet's Chipped Tooth Derails Milwaukee Concert


Janet Jackson probably wasn’t smiling Wednesday (July 18), and neither were her Milwaukee fans. The singer reportedly canceled her concert there just hours before showtime after undergoing emergency dental work. Jackson chipped a tooth and had to have an emergency root canal, according to Milwaukee TV station WTMJ.
