No, it wasn’t his daughter, Hailie – this baby was a life-size blonde-haired baby doll, seemingly masked, which a surgical-mask-wearing Em held above the crowd, tossed up, and caught by its head. Alt-metal act Alien Ant Farm is preparing to return to touring for the first time since a bus accident left lead singer Dryden Mitchell with serious spinal injuries more than a year ago. The North American run will kick off July 5 in Las Vegas and close Aug. 3 in Houston. A European tour with stops at England’s Reading and Leeds festivals will follow. After weeks on the festival circuit, Evanescence are set to embark on their first large-scale headlining tour. Amy Lee, Ben Moody and company will top the marquee on the Nintendo Fusion Tour, a multi-band music-and-gaming fiesta promising to visit 25 North American cities, according to a Nintendo spokesperson. Although an itinerary has yet to be solidified, the trek gets rolling August 4 in Los Angeles and is expected to wind down in late September in the Northwest. It seems that Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is no fan of Justin Timberlake. Jagger said, “I’ve watched Justin, but every single move he does is stolen,” according to Britain’s itv.com. The Boston Herald reports that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band may be booked to play two shows, September 6 and 7, at Fenway Park, the home of baseball’s Red Sox. The team will be out of town those two days, playing the New York Yankees in the Bronx. The Boston dates have not been confirmed. But the alternametal band’s frontman has been confined to a Los Angeles-area hospital since Friday battling a mystery malady, the group’s label has announced. Seven weeks after heart bypass surgery, doctors cleared Lynyrd Skynyrd founding lead guitarist Gary Rossington to return to touring with the southern rock band starting in June. Rossington, 51, underwent the quintuple bypass surgery Feb. 25 at an Atlanta-area hospital. Band spokesman Lathum Nelson said Thursday in Los Angeles that the cardiologist gave Rossington the green light to return to stage June 13 in Karlsruhe, Germany. “Since his surgery, Gary has done well. Bertelsmann said Monday it is seeking bids by the end of the week for its academic and professional publishing business, which the German media company intends to sell for about 1 billion euros ($1.06 billion) to cut debt. Bertelsmann expects “at least half a dozen” bids for its BertelsmannSpringer unit, spokesman Oliver Herrgesell said.
