You can tell Fred Durst’s been kind of down lately by the way he’s all agitated when responding to the have-you-and-Britney-been-dating questions and, more importantly, the fact that he’s not sporting his usual jaunty red baseball cap. The first single from the long-awaited Foo Fighters album, 1X1 (One By One), is “All My Life.” Foo frontman Dave Grohl is set to direct the video shoot for the clip next week. As for the song itself, Grohl said it’s going to “shred your ass.” 1X1 is set for release October 22. The band is mixing the album now. Foo Fighters will be taking a break from the recording of their upcoming fourth album to play a special one-off benefit for MAP (Musicians’ Assistance Program). MAP is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 by Buddy Arnold and his wife Carole Fields to provide treatment for musicians addicted to drugs and alcohol.
